Age 88
Raritan
Anthony F. Casino, a.k.a. Sonny, Tippy, Ant, Cat, 88, died peacefully on May 6, 2018 of natural causes. Born in Raritan, Anthony remained a lifelong resident here as well. A veteran of the Korean War, he will forever be remembered as a modest, thrifty man, who loved to laugh. He’s survived by his children Michele, Sharon, Susan and Anthony; 5 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren and sister, Anna. He’s preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jane; siblings Mary, Jenny, Josephine, Rose, and Peter.
His life was forever transformed when he married the extraordinary Jane Edith Ciemiecky in 1952. At the time of Jane’s death, they were married 57 years; a triumph worth noting given their very different personalities. He was employed by Sears Roebuck for 44 years prior to retirement and deeply involved in local politics. He was a long-time member of the Italian-American Club, Star of Italy and residing President for several years. His greatest joys were eating “exceptional” Italian food, watching old movies and the Yankees, singing along with ol’ Blue Eyes and achieving multiple birdies while golfing. His all-time favorite expression- “Canta tu”. May you sing forever Pops!
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 30th at Evangel Chapel, 505 NJ-28, Bridgewater. Doors open at 10:30am. A guestbook to post messages and memories is available online at:www.cusickfuneralhome.com
