Frank Joseph Sydlowski, 80, entered eternal life on Saturday April 11,2020 at Robert Wood Johnson University Medical Center in Somerville from complications of covid-19. The son of the late Frank R and Josephine (Kedziora) Sydlowski, he was born on August 28, 1939 in Bound Brook where he spent his early years.
Frank graduated from Bound Brook High School in 1957 where he was very involved in music. After high school, he was with several local music groups, where he played for dances, weddings and other events.
On July 21, 1962 Frank married the love of his life, Dorothy Wyckoff, and they began a beautiful life together.
He worked at Johns Manville for 30 years, where he was a member of the Quarter Century Club. Franks career at Johns Manville took him and his family to New Hampshire and Georgia before they moved back to Bridgewater in 1979. While in NH, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Northeastern University. He served as Treasurer and then President of United Cerebral Palsy Association of Merrimack Valley (Massachusetts) Frank was also a member of the Al Rogers Quartet from Massachusetts, where he was able to share his continued love of music.
Frank was happy to move back home to New Jersey because he was once again close to extended family.
In 1999, Frank retired from UC Industries, a division of Owens Corning, where he was Vice President. After retirement, he became a Real Estate Agent, which he continued to do until his death. He was currently with Coldwell Banker of Bedminster, where he worked together with his daughter.
Frank always said that his family was his greatest accomplishment and looked forward to having everyone together even if only for a short time. He would always look for a reason to bring family together.
Frank enjoyed sharing in his children’s and grandchildren’s lives. He attended their sporting events, concerts, and award ceremonies as often as he could. If you looked out at the audience or the crowd, you could always find Dad (PopPop) waiving with a big smile!
He was also very supportive of Midland School and Adult Service Program where his son, Jim, is a group home resident. All the other residents in Jim’s home enjoyed when Mr. Sydlowski would come by because he always came with a smile and spent a few minutes with them.
Besides his parents, Frank was predeceased by his grandson, Bobby Brungard in 1992.
Frank is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Dorothy (Wyckoff) Sydlowski of Bridgewater; his three daughters, Lori Brungard and her husband, Todd of Bridgewater, Kathie Leasureand her husband Ted of Gibsonville, NC, Barbara Matistic and her husband Tom of Norfolk, Va and his son, Jim, of Branchburg.
