
Jennie Koteles, 95, of Bridgewater, died January 5, 2022 at Robert Wood University Hospital in Somerville.
Born in Somerville to the late Stephen and Anna (Vilcek) Ewankov, she was a lifelong resident of Somerville and Bridgewater.
Jennie was one of the first female chemical technicians for the former American Cycnamid in Bound Brook where she spent the entirety of her career until her retirement.
Mrs. Koteles was a devout communicant of St. Bernard of Clairvaux R.C. Church in Bridgewater where she was a member of the choir. Jennie used her gifted voice to perform with the Diocesan Festival Choir and was a longtime member of the The Masterwork Chorus, under conductor David Randolph. She enjoyed traveling and the quality time spent with her family and choir community.
Jennie was preceded in death by her beloved husband Alexander Koteles in 1955 and by her dear son Michael Koteles in 2006. Gone before her as well are her siblings, Frances Saunders, Vera Mahoney, Joseph Vilcek, and Robert Ewankov.
Surviving are her many nieces and nephews and extended family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00AM on Friday, January 14, 2022 at St. Bernard of Clairvaux R.C. Church, 500 U.S. 22, Bridgewater, NJ.
Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery, Bridgewater.
Memorial Contributions may be made in Jennie’s memory to St. Bernard of Clairvaux R.C. Church.
