Norma M. Horger, 103, passed away peacefully on Saturday at home surrounded by her family. She was born and grew up in West Hoboken and as an adult moved to Leonia, NJ.
Norma was witty, gracious and very appreciative and was loved by all who knew her. She worked in the banking industry in NYC for 40 years. Her first job was as a bookkeeper and stenographer managing the bank's safe deposit boxes and Christmas Club savings accounts. Norma experienced three major bank acquisitions during her career and retired from JP Morgan Chase as an administrative secretary.
During her retirement, Norma enjoyed her home in Chatham, MA for 20 years before moving to Bridgewater, NJ.
Surviving are four generations of loving nieces and nephews.A Prayer Service will be held 10:30am on Friday, February 3, at the Cusick Funeral Home, Somerville.
Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Norma’s name to Samaritan Homeless Interim Program (SHIP), 87 E High St, Somerville, NJ 08876.
